ARBTRAK 150 adds to landscapers productivity
Waiheke Island based Landscapes and Lawns has recently added another Youngman Richardson & Co Ltd product to its fleet with the purchase of a Greenmech Arbtrak 150 wood chipper.
Owner Jeff Moore is passionate about his business and is always looking for an edge over the competition. That’s why he purchased a Spiderlift PB1380 a year ago. “The efficiency of the Spiderlift has reduced our labour costs and we’re now doing more, which means that we needed a bigger chipper,” says Jeff. “We went with tracks rather than wheels. On the island there are a lot of hard-to- get to places and a lot of different ground conditions. The maneuverable track system of the Arbtrak 150 is a big help in that regard and the wide tracks provide greater stability.”
“We did consider looking at other brands but as YRCO has never let us down, we were more than happy to purchase from them knowing that they are always there to back us up and constantly have parts in stock.”
According to Jeff the Kubota 34hp diesel engine has a huge advantage as far as quietness and fuel efficiency is concerned. “The Kubota engine is very frugal, and it almost appears as though we never have to top it up. And what’s more as far as chippers go this one is very quiet.”
Other benefits that Jeff was quick to point out about the Arbtrak 150 was the fact that it has a good design, meets NZ Safety standards, is well built and provides good access which means it is easy to service and to keep clean. Another big plus is the wider in feed hopper measuring 970mm x 790mm which gives a free flow of bulky material. Previously these branches and logs would have had to have been trimmed to a more manageable size. Along with its perfect partner, the Spiderlift PB1380, the Arbtrak 150 is paying off for him big time.
